2025 Toronto Closed Chess Championship The 2025 Toronto Closed Chess Championship is overseen by the Greater Toronto Chess League (GTCL) and the event has a long and storied past. 9-round, Round Robin chess tournament with four sections of ten players each—Championship, Reserve, Development and Annex. It is open to men and women of all ages. Total – 40 players. Players will be assigned to sections by CFC rating. 7:30 PM each Monday evening from April 14 to June 23. No games on April 21 (Easter Monday) and May 19 (Victoria Day). Make-up games will be scheduled as needed. All players are expected to be available for all dates. Dropping out of a round robin tournament, or missing a round, creates significant problems. 90+30 time control. CFC and FIDE rated. Pre-registration is required. The top 30 CFC-rated players will be accepted and will then pay the tournament fee. Current CFC membership required. Cost is $120 for ACC members and FIDE titled players, $150 for everyone else. Please use the player's first and last name during registration. Keith Denning is the designated arbiter for this event. Players' names will be disclosed in all registration lists.
