Our eight-week intermediate/advanced course builds on the basics, and introduces teens and adults to more advanced chess concepts, chess games by master players, and more, taught by National Master David Filipovich. Students will also learn how to use a chess clock, how to read and write chess notation, and chess etiquette for tournament play. On completion of this course, students will be ready to take part in chess tournaments, such as the ones ACC runs every week. These classes are tailored to the levels and needs the of the students, so the curriculum is flexible. Therefore, you can join this course any time! ACC students are also welcome to borrow books from the ACC library and play in our casual play area after class. Please note that there are no classes on April 1, as the club is closed for Easter Monday.
