This tournament will follow FIDE and CFC regulations. Here are some important considerations:

No electronic devices are permitted without the explicit permission of the arbiter. Cellphones and similar devices must be off and may not be accessed during play.

If a device sounds or vibrates during play, the offending player will lose their game.

A player who makes an illegal move will be penalized with two minutes added to the opponent's clock. A second illegal move in a game will result in a loss.

About this event

This is a five round classical tournament open to anyone who has reached the age of 50 by the end of 2025.

Please note that the location of this tournament has changed. It will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church, 1701 Bloor St. West near Keele St. This is a short walk from Keele subway station, and has ample parking.

Time control is 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move. Default time is 30 minutes from the posted start of any round.

Chief arbiter: Keith Denning

Round one: Friday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m.
Round two: Saturday, October 18 at 10:00 a.m.
Round three: Saturday, October 18 at 4:00 p.m.
Round four: Sunday, October 19, at 10:00 a.m.
Round five: Sunday, October 19, at 4:00 p.m.

A maximum of two half-point byes may be requested in the first four rounds. Additional byes are zero-point.

The tournament is played in a single section, and will be both CFC- and FIDE-rated.
