ACC News Update – October 28, 2022

Here is an update of what’s going on at the Club, this Monday, October 31, 2022.

ACC Halloween Rapid (Starts at 7:30 PM)

We’re currently at 60 players and may get close to 70 for this spooky 5-round 10’+5″ rapid event. It should be a lot of fun. Players are advised to wear appropriate Halloween masks or costumes to add to the spirit of the evening. Prizes will also be presented for the best costumes on display. Our scary Arbiters, Keith Denning and Alex Ferreira, will be on-hand to maintain “normal Halloween craziness” in the Great Hall.

This event is free for ACC members and titled players, and $30 for everyone else, but players must register online. Here is our original post for this event.

We’ll post pairings shortly before the start of play. We’ll also leave registrations open until mid-Monday. Due to the high level of interest in this event, we’ll break-down the players into smaller sections based on current CFC rating, with no playing up (i.e. Crown, U1800, U1400 including Unrated).

Here are a few pics of some chess players that were recently seen at a local car wash looking for some rapid (or was it “rabid?”) games.
