Adult beginners can try a 2-week adult beginner class with Keith, on Monday nights starting February 22 or again starting March 8. This will give you some techniques and principles for making good moves in the opening, middlegame and endgame.

Or if chess is completely new to you, Keith can bring you up to speed with an intro to chess on February 9 or March 2 This takes you, in one lesson, right from the start with how the pieces move and how to set up the board, through all the rules of the game, how to check and checkmate, and even a few ideas for getting your game off to a good start.

If you’re familiar with basic opening, middlegame, and endgame principles, but you’re looking to go a bit deeper, try a 5-week intermediate class with Peter. There’s one starting February 8, and for those who took the class in January, this one will cover all new topics.

Or for tournament players looking to improve, FM Michael Humphreys is teaching a high-level Thursday night adult advanced course, starting February 25. This time around, the course will cover a variety of topics centred around a sharp opening system that is played at all levels of the game – the Sicilian Defence.
Week 1: Intro to the Sicilian Defence
Week 2: Typical Sacrifices in the Sicilian
Week 3: The Power of the Bishop Pair
Week 4: The Sicilian Endgame
Week 5: Attacking with Opposite-Side-Castling
